This Privacy Policy explains how ByteHub, LLC ("ByteHub", "we", "us", or "our") processes information in connection with Oberton Wallet (the "App", "Oberton Wallet", or the "Service").
Oberton Wallet is a non-custodial crypto wallet. We do not custody your crypto assets, and we do not ask you to send us your seed phrase, private keys, passcode, or backup password. Anyone with access to your seed phrase or private keys may control your assets.
We do not intentionally collect the following on our servers:
If you contact us by email, we will receive the information you choose to include in that message, such as your email address and the content of your request.
The App stores wallet data on your device so it can operate as a wallet. This may include seed names, public wallet addresses, public keys, contacts, asset lists, token metadata, transaction history, app settings, notification preferences, and encrypted wallet data. Seed phrases and private keys are stored locally on your device using platform security mechanisms and app-level encryption where implemented.
We and our service providers may process diagnostic and product operation information such as crash reports, stack traces, performance data, app version, operating system version, device model, language or locale, approximate timestamps, feature events, and technical logs. This information is used to find and fix errors, understand reliability problems, and improve the App.
Some app versions may record limited feature events, such as app open, wallet or asset creation, asset restore, send, staking, theme, network, contact, invoice, or WalletConnect-related events. Event parameters may include technical or product details such as blockchain network, asset type, token symbol, chain ID, app version, platform, language, device model, amount, or depool address. We do not use this data to identify you by name.
If you enable transaction or signing notifications, the App may send our server a device token, Firebase Cloud Messaging token, Apple Push Notification token, platform type, and the public wallet address or public signing address for which notifications are requested. This is used to deliver notifications and to manage notification subscriptions.
The App communicates with Oberton API services and third-party network services to fetch prices, token lists, remote configuration, version notices, blockchain data, transaction history, wallet connection data, and similar operational information. These requests may include your IP address as part of normal internet communication, device token headers where required for app services, public wallet addresses, transaction hashes, token identifiers, chain IDs, and other data needed to return the requested information.
If you enable cloud backup, the App may create a backup containing selected seed phrases, wallet metadata, asset lists, contacts, public keys, and settings. The backup is encrypted locally using the password you choose before it is stored in your own cloud account. On iOS, backups may be stored in iCloud. On Android, backups may be stored in Google Drive. We do not receive your backup password, and we cannot restore your backup if you lose it.
The App may request camera access to scan QR codes. Biometric authentication, such as Face ID or fingerprint, is handled by your operating system. We do not receive your biometric template.
Public blockchains are transparent by design. When you use wallet addresses, make transactions, interact with smart contracts, or receive tokens, information such as public addresses, balances, transaction hashes, amounts, timestamps, fees, and contract calls may be publicly visible and may remain available permanently. We cannot delete or modify public blockchain records.
We use information for the following purposes:
The App may use third-party services depending on platform, region, feature, and app version. These services may process information under their own privacy policies and terms.
If a listed SDK or provider has been removed from a current build, it may still apply to older versions installed by users until they update.
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers that help us operate the App, provide diagnostics, deliver notifications, host APIs, process optional backups, or provide blockchain and wallet connection functionality. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a business transfer.
Local wallet data remains on your device until you delete it, reset the App, or uninstall the App, subject to your device and cloud backup settings. Push notification tokens and related public wallet address subscriptions are retained while the feature is enabled or while needed to operate the Service. Diagnostic and analytics data is retained according to our operational needs and the retention settings of the relevant service providers. Public blockchain data may remain public indefinitely.
We and our service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Those countries may have data protection rules different from your country.
Oberton Wallet is not intended for children. You must be at least 18 years old or the age of majority in your jurisdiction to use the App. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect information processed by us. However, no software, device, network, blockchain, smart contract, or cloud provider can be guaranteed to be secure. You are responsible for safeguarding your device, seed phrase, private keys, passcode, cloud accounts, and backup password.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated policy on this page and update the effective date.
